On the 7th of February, the City of Barcelona Office of Technology and Digital Innovation in collaboration with the European Commission launched the DSI4BCN platform with a new round of funding, the next Collective Awareness Platforms call (CAPS InfoDay) and the DECODE project.
The purpose of this event was to provide a forum where researchers, social entrepreneurs, communities and hackers could come together to discuss issues relating to digital social innovation. During the day, panels discussed issues such as ‘Growing a Digital Social Innovation Ecosystem for Europe’ and ‘Shaping the Internet of the Future for a more collaborative economy and society’.
As part of the InfoDay, Francesca Bria delivered an introductory presentation about Barcelona’s Digital Social Innovation programme, DSI4BCN. The DSI4BCN project will foster digital innovations for the social good, helping communities to share data, collaborate to solve societal problems and scale their initiatives. It will focus on open technologies that preserve people’s privacy and digital sovereignty and facilitate new sustainable business models.
