The Data Transparency Lab Conference was held at the Telefónica Headquarters in Barcelona from the 11th-12th December, 2017. The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, designers and media representatives to talk about the latest trends in data transparency and privacy. The Conference included panel discussions, workshops, app demos and Grants Programme presentations.
Francesca Bria delivered the keynote address at the Conference, where she discussed current techno-economic trends, questions around the social, ethical and economic implications of AI, Barcelona’s digital strategy and the DECODE project. She also addressed issues relating to citizen data sovereignty and empowerment, algorithmic transparency, and the use of personal data for social good.
