Would you like to be able to decide how and with whom to share your data? Join our workshop on data governance and IoT next Wednesday 7 November from 18:30h to 20h in Gràcia!
During this workshop you will be able to inquire about the personal legal and technological implications of sharing your data, and co-create new tools for the control of data produced by sensors such as the Smart Citizen Kit. This workshop is part of the European project DECODE, which aims to empower citizens to take control of their data and decide how to manage it.
If you join the project, you will have the opportunity to sponsor a Smart Citizen Kit environmental sensor to measure factors such as noise levels and air pollution. You will be part of a community of citizen science aimed at contributing useful data for the creation of public policies and co-designing new tools for data management. DECODE technology will also allow you to share the encrypted data from your sensors anonymously and under the conditions you decide individually and with the pilot community.
After the workshop on November 7, you will be able to participate in more sessions where we will help you set up and use the sensors to collect and analyse data so that they can directly influence decisions on issues such as noise and pollution in Barcelona.
This pilot program Citizen Science Data Governance will be carried out in collaboration with Ideas for Change and FabLab Barcelona (https://smartcitizen.me).
