Getting around Barcelona

The Barcelona-El Prat airport is 3 km far from the city center of Barcelona and is connected to the city by Aerobus (every 5 minutes), the L9 South metro, train and taxis. A taxi from the airport to the city centre will cost around € 40. There are taxi stops outside each terminal. Also, If you are arriving by train to Sants station, you can easily reach Plaza Cataluña by metro, bus and taxi.

Barcelona has an excellent public transport system comprised by 11 metro lines, 6 tram lines and a large network of buses, trains and railways. The public transport of the city works through an integrated fare system, which will allow you to use several means of transportation with just one ticket: you can travel almost the entire city in about 40 minutes by metro or bus.

If you are planning to explore the city on your own, we recommend you to obtain a  Barcelona travel card. There are four different types of cards that include 2,3,4 or 5 days of unlimited journeys.

You can buy individual journeys for the metro which cost € 2.20 each. If you are here for more than one day or intend to make more than 5 trips by metro or bus, it is better to buy the T10 ticket (€ 10.20).

The accommodation options in Barcelona are enormous but we recommend that you book your accommodation as soon as possible since there will be lots of events happening in the city during those dates . If you are going to be close to the venue, we can recommend some nice neighborhoods like Sant Antoni, full of life and good restaurants and bars.
